  • The $10.75 million buyer of the Bellevue Hill mansion owned by Jodee Rich’s family for close to 40 years has been revealed as property fund manager Ben Finger.

  • Ben Finger is the son of architect Harold Finger OAM, and the father-and-son team are principals in the Haben Property Team.​

  • It was most recently the home of Gayl Rich, widow of the late Steven Rich who created Traveland. Her son Jodee was a principal of phone company OneTel fame and founder of the social networking website PeopleBrowsr.

History of "Dawn" aka 'Beaulieu' aka 'Retlas'

​There’s no doubt the Bulkara Rd property, which apart from having a 'Rich' history, has a colourful history as well.

  • August 1938 - Re-named as 'Retlas' by Mrs. L. Salter, as a new 'home of revelry' at 73 Bulkara Road, Bellevue Hill

  • October 1938 - the home of Mrs. Chandler at 73, Bulkara Road, Bellevue Hill.

  • May 1945 - the residence of William H. Browning, prominent AJC fielder, who specialised in doubles and betting on interstate events. Browning is also known as the 'Polar Bear'.

  • In the 1940s it was owned by the bookmaker William Browning, who passed it down to his son, Arthur, also a bookie and a friend of Sir Frank Packer.
